About the treatment

IPL delivers a broad spectrum of light that can be filtered to target specific chromophores — melanin for pigmentation, haemoglobin for redness — making it exceptionally versatile compared with single-wavelength lasers.

At The Glass Skin Clinic, IPL effectively treats sunspots, freckles, age spots, broken capillaries, rosacea and general redness. The light energy is absorbed by the target cells, which break down and are naturally eliminated by the body, revealing clearer skin beneath.

What it treats

  • Sunspots & freckles
  • Age spots
  • Broken capillaries
  • Rosacea
  • Facial redness
  • Uneven tone

How it works

The process, step by step.

  1. 01

    Filter

Wavelengths are filtered to target your specific concern — pigment or vascular.

  2. 02

    Absorb

Light energy is absorbed by the target cells and converted to heat.

  3. 03

    Clear

Treated pigment darkens then flakes away; vessels are reabsorbed naturally.

Questions

Everything you might ask.

What does it feel like?

A brief snap, like a light elastic band flick, followed by warmth.

Will pigmentation come back?

Treated pigment is cleared permanently, but new pigment can form with UV exposure. Daily SPF is essential.
